| After an exciting day bartering at the colourful local markets, or an invigorating swim in the Mare Chappey pool or at the nearby beach, there waiting for you on your return is the Courtyard Bistro! |
In the style of a typical French village auberge and bar, the Bistro offers everything from an ice-cold draught beer from the well-stocked bar, to a tasty snack or home-made three or four course meal in elegant and relaxing surroundings. |

Outside is the chic terraced area, complete with pool table and other bar games, where guests can enjoy a lazy few hours and the tranquillity of the Normandy countryside.
At least once a week our very popular BBQ night & late night dip takes place, as the evening draws in, the lights come on, those young at heart 0-90! take a refreshing plunge. |

All guests are invited to make full use of the amenities on offer at La Mare Chappey these have included a wonderful outdoor swimming pool with a furnished wooden-decked terrace area for relaxing in the sun. To ensure that nobody's tranquillity is disturbed, the large pool is set in its own field away from guest accommodation and strict French regulations ensure that it is extremely safe for children with fencing, Child Safety Gate and life-saving equipment to prevent any mishaps. |

Local Facilities
Although tucked away from the disturbances of modern-day life, La Mare Chappey is within easy walking distance of the tiny Normandy village of Nehou with its welcoming bar and shop (known for its fresh baguettes and croissants!) and within a few minutes' drive is the beautifully preserved cobbled medieval town of Bricquebec, Normandy.
The town boasts a good selection of shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, an historic chateau and bustling Monday-morning market, famous throughout the Normandy region for its diverse range of tantalising fresh produce.
A few minutes in the other direction is Normandy's St-Sauveur-le-Vicomte, which again offers a good range a shops, bars and restaurants, together with its own canoeing centre - perfect for those who like splashing about in water on their holiday! A forest Adventure centre A special cycling and walking route lies just 400 metres away from the Manoir where there was once an old railway line through Normandy.
Some of the most glorious and deserted Blue-Flag beaches on Normandy's Cherbourg Peninsula - including Barneville Plage, Carteret, Surtainville, and Portbail - are within a fifteen minute drive from La Mare Chappey here in Normandy; Many of these offer a wide variety of water-sports activities, bustling marinas, plus the opportunity of a day-trip by ferry to the nearby island of Jersey.
GOLF:
There is a links golf course at St. Jean de la Riviere(18 mins). There are two nine hole courses at La Glacerie, Cherbourg (25 mins) and there are 18 hole golf courses at Coutainville (40 mins) and Granville (1 hour).
